RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

Research is a strategic sector and Pantecnica® invests on average 3 ≈ 5% of its turnover every year, even during the recessionary phases faced and overcome in 50 years. Pantecnica® constantly develops its technology and application know-how, through the continuous research, selection, and training of new human resources, too.
Pantecnica® develops solutions in co-design with its customers and partners anticipating the needs of its target markets and investing in some new research projects and patents mainly in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano, the Technical University of Munich, and other renowned institutes of research.
Working in synergy with its subsidiary Pantecnica Service, Pantecnica® combines innovation and flexibility and can compete with internationally renowned companies, thanks to those collaborators who are committed to meet our customers’ expectations.
Pantecnica® invests in the following R&D activities:
1. “Circular Economy” under the development of the innovative NoViDamp® phononic device, a patented meta-technology for vibro-acoustic insulation both in the infrastructural, civil, and industrial fields. Pantecnica is investing to optimize it by regenerating PVC, in partnership with Phononic Vibes® S.r.l., a start-up of Politecnico di Milano; Watch the vido on NoViDamp®
2. “Blue Technologies” by introducing on the market the new antifouling systems SonicBoat® and BubbleBoat®. They prevent the use of the polluting antifouling paints, being therefore functional to the mitigation of their environmental impact as well as to the reduction of marine and coastal pollution, and thus expand our range of technologically innovative solutions to improve the efficiency of propulsion and on-board auxiliary machines, as well as on offshore platforms;
3. “Technologies and materials of the building system“, is a sector in which two other patents are undergoing experimental verification: DAFiReS® in the field of anti-vibration devices for non-structural seismic protection, and Rubberflex® in the field of glass insulation for high-energy performance windows and doors.

The anti-vibration panels that Pantecnica is marketing under its own NoViDamp® brand, following validation also through on-site tests, have been developed thanks to the contribution received from the “SIMP TRAM – Innovative System for Comfort from Vibrations Coming from Rail Traffic on Periodic Meta-structures” project, co-financed by the Lombardy Region through the call for tender: “INNODRIVER-S3 – 2017 Edition – Measures A-B-C”. The acoustic shielding, which Pantecnica intends to market under its own NoViDamp® brand once it has been validated also through on-site tests, is being developed also thanks to the contribution received within the Research and Development Project called “METAISOLECOMAT – meta-materials as a new technology for high-performance soundproof panels, made with regenerated plastic materials”.

The Antivibration Device with Seismically Resistant Fixing named DAFiReS®, with European Patent no. 3517802 issued on 2/6/2021, is in line with the direction taken by the anti-seismic protection regulation in the most advanced countries (e.g. USA) where the focus is increasingly shifting from structural to non-structural elements. This device, that by virtue of the validation of numerical simulations carried out by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Politecnico di Milano through tests at the laboratories of EUCENTRE Pavia, is being marketed by Pantecnica under its own brand DAFiReS ®, was developed thanks to the contribution received under the project co-financed by the Regione Lombardia through the call for tender “INNODRIVER-S3 – Edition 2019 – Measures A-B” (valid on the POR FESR 2014 -2020). In the occurrence of a seismic event, the device is able to protect the integrity of any machinery, plant, and non-structural system installed in buildings constructed in seismic zones.
